THE STORY OF THE ETHIOPIAN JEWS
This is a trailer park similar to the living conditions of the Ethiopian Jews. In fifty-three years, this is as far as the Ethiopian Jews come since Dr. Ralph Brunch carved out the foundation of Israel in May of 1948. His dream and vision was to create a home for all Jews regardless of race or color. The living conditions here are like living in a third world country. Recall a few years back during a blood drive when Ethiopian Jews found the Israeli government dumping their blood, claiming it was infected with the HIV virus. No laboratory tests were ever conducted to prove this. Their living conditions are horrible. They wait, however, day after day hoping that the Israeli government will have a change of heart and allow them passage to Israel like they said they would in the mid 80's. These people cannot celebrate the Jewish holidays such as Passover because their families are spread apart. Jews throughout the world with their friends celebrate with the famous Passover holiday, the holiday where all Jews relive the struggle when the Jews were living in Egypt. Only the Ethiopian Jews cannot have the pleasure or reliving the lives of their forefathers, due to the state of Israel diving the families of the Ethiopian Jews. Half are in Israel, the others remain in Ethiopia. The heart of Judaism is justice and compassion and neither is shown to the Ethiopian Jews. It bothers me as a Jew to hear my brother Jew on the pulpit crying out that he loves God with all his heart and soul and might. A God he's never seen, but He sees the Ethiopian Jews every day?
